Frozen shoulder is a condition of the shoulder joint and it produces pain and stiffness of the joint. This condition is also called as adhesive capsulitis. Symptoms generally start with a light pain and if left untreated, condition gets worsen.

Shoulder joint is made up 3 bones and there are multiple muscles and ligaments work together to keep this joint stable and functional.

Symptoms : Frozen Shoulder Treatment

Freezing stage:

  • You develop a pain (sometimes severe) in your shoulder any time you move it.

  • It slowly gets worse over time and may hurt more at night.

  • This can last anywhere from 6 to 9 months.

  • You’re limited in how far you can move your shoulder.

Frozen Shoulder Treatment:

Over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin or ibuprofen can help relieve the pain and inflammation .

Your treatment will also include going to a physical therapist to improve the movement and strength of the joint and it helps to get back to functional again.

If your symptoms are intense or don’t improve over time, your doctor might recommend other kinds of treatments, including:

  • A corticosteroid injection in your shoulder joint to reduce your pain. Which may have side side effect. It may reduce the pain and in turn help you to move but without exercise it still leaves the muscles weak.

  • Mobilization under anesthesia-Joint is mobilized forcefully by giving general anesthesia. By doing so Sometimes it may injure your surrounding soft tissues too.
